Aviva is Sarasota’s Only Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Rental Community.Solomon comes to Aviva from CentraState Healthcare System in Freehold, New Jersey where he served since 2001. He was chief administrator of Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center since 2013, and helped to substantially expand, increase operating margins and improve its customer satisfaction from 60 % to 90 %. Manor received a 5-star rating from Medicare and Medicaid Services and was recognized by US News and World Report as one of the top quality nursing homes in the country last year.Solomon also served as administrator for four other facilities in New Jersey, including CEO of Daughters of Miriam in Clifton, which included skilled nursing, adult daycare, independent living and meals on wheels. He has helped to expand and improve all the facilities where he worked. His facilities earned best practice awards from the New Jersey Department of Health for four years.Solomon is a second-generation health care administrator who received his administrator license at age 21. He holds a Master of Public Administration from Long Island University and a B.A. in Health Education from Glassboro State College, now Rowan University. He served on numerous national and local healthcare boards in New Jersey and was president of Congregation Ohev Shalom/Marlboro Jewish Center, one of the largest in Northern New Jersey.Solomon and his wife Lori have moved to Sarasota and initially resided at Aviva for a short period so that he could quickly understand the needs of Aviva’s 270 residents. Recently Solomon purchased a home in Lakewood Ranch. He has one son, Matt, who lives in Hoboken, New Jersey.“Jay Solomon is a leader and an innovator with deep Jewish roots and values.
