How do you make it feel like the holidays in sunny Florida? You celebrate them with great friends, loving family, and an incredible place to call home!Here at Aviva Senior Living, the holiday season is a great way to come together as a community and share our traditions with one another. The festivities began last week as we came together to light the first candle of Chanukah 2017! All together in the Rotunda our very own Rabbi Anne kicked off our eight night celebration with song, cheer, and Chanukah treats. The night was made even more special as we had the opportunity to light our new campus menorah, which stands over 6 feet tall!Throughout the eight nights of celebration our campus was filled with dozens of live musical performances. Each night featured a different genre of music dedicated to Chanukah including classical violin, student acapella groups, traveling musicals and of course Klezmer music! To wrap-up our Chanukah celebration the community came together for our Chanukah Extravaganza. Featuring over 100 Chanukiyot, the Extravaganza brought residents, families, and members of the community together for a night full of light and joy.Following a whirlwind week of Chanukah activities our campus switched gears to bring the joy of Christmas to our home in Sarasota. Residents spent time decorating wreaths for their doors and making winter themed centerpieces for our dining room. No Christmas celebration could be complete without cookies and caroling! Our very own Rabbi Anne joined local musicians as they spent two days traversing campus with Christmas sweets and sing-along caroling. Favorites like Jingle Bells and Silent Night came to life in the Rotunda as they were joined by Kobernick residents on our grand piano!The fun doesn’t stop there! With New Year’s Eve quickly approaching we are putting the final touches on our Champagne New Year’s Eve party. Live music, house-made hors d'oeuvres and freely flowing Champagne and sparkling cider are all a part of this sequined filled celebration.Interested in learning more about the activities and events at Aviva?
